When you generate AI portraits, your selfie photo (which may contain face data) is:

The only "face data" the app receives is the regular JPEG selfie photo that the user voluntarily selects from their device's Photo Library. We do NOT collect, extract, or compute any of the following:
The selfie is treated solely as a generic image input for AI-based artistic transformation. No face recognition, face detection, face matching, or identity verification is performed at any point.
The selfie is processed for one and only one purpose: to generate stylized AI portrait images (e.g., "Old Money", "Clean Girl", "Coquette" aesthetics) for the user's personal use. The face data is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing, AI model training, analytics, user identification, or any other purpose.
AI Portrait Studio does NOT retain face data on our servers. The user's selfie is processed entirely in server memory (RAM) and is never written to disk on our backend. After the AI generation request completes (typically within seconds), the in-memory image data is released by normal process memory cleanup.
This has been verified through direct inspection of our production server filesystem: no user-uploaded face images exist on the server's storage at any time.
The retention period for user face data on our servers is effectively zero seconds beyond the duration of the active generation request. Because the face data is never persisted to durable storage and only exists transiently in process memory during active processing, the retention period is the shortest technically possible.

Why we share face data with BytePlus: BytePlus Seedream is the AI image-generation engine that performs the stylization. The selfie is sent to BytePlus solely so it can be processed by the generative AI model and a stylized portrait image returned in response. This is the sole and necessary purpose of the sharing; without it, the app's core functionality cannot operate.
We do not share face data with any other third party. We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, data brokers, or facial recognition services.
Under BytePlus's commercial terms of service for the Seedream API, BytePlus processes input images solely for the purpose of fulfilling the generation request and does not retain user-provided images for model training, profiling, or any secondary purpose. According to BytePlus's published privacy policy, input images are processed transiently to fulfill the API request and are not used to train or improve their AI models.

The AI-generated portrait images returned to the user are stored only on the user's device (in the app's local storage) and are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). Apple handles all payment processing under their own privacy policy.
AI Portrait Studio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at sales@hkhdtp.com and we will delete it immediately.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and to object to processing. Since we store only a device ID (no face data is ever retained), deletion is straightforward — contact us.
You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. We do not sell personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, via an in-app notice.
